The trips you've taken.
The ones still ahead.

An app that plans your trips and remembers them — so everything you loved last time shapes where you go next.

You have been exposing film for twenty years.
You have never developed it.

The pictures are already there. Every one of them. They are just still in the dark.

The word for it Photographers call it a latent image

The exposure takes a thousandth of a second. Then nothing visible happens at all. The picture is finished, and sitting there, and entirely unviewable — and it stays that way forever unless somebody does something about it.

You were there. It registered. And then it sat.

And then, slowly Film left long enough fogs

Not dramatically. Light finds the edges, a little each year, until the picture is still technically there and no longer worth printing.

Nobody notices. That is the part that should bother you — the only person who could have missed it never saw it in the first place.

So

We built somewhere dark and warm to do the work.

A safelight, a tray, and enough patience to let the picture come up on its own. The trip goes in latent. It comes out as something you can hold, and hand to somebody.

You will know the moment when it happens. It is the one where the thing you did becomes a thing you have.

Plainly, then

Veltaway plans your trips, and then develops them — the days in order, the reasons kept, the pictures where they belong, in one place you can go back to.

Developing is free. Planning is the part that costs something, because it is the part that is work.

Nothing is lost. Only undeveloped.

There is a roll in the camera and there always was.
